Fuyao is doubling the workforce at its planned factory in the former GM plant south of Dayton. That brings the total expected jobs up to more than 1,500.

Hiring has already started, with recruitment events around the Miami Valley.

And tax credits and state and local grants announced so far for the project add to about 15 million dollars.

This is Fuyao's first manufacturing plant in the U.S., where its customers include GM, Chrysler and Honda.

Analysts say rising wages in China and wage stagnation in the U.S. have made manufacturing here increasingly appealing for Chinese companies.
