In our ongoing series, Beyond the Dish, we stop by a restaurant on the east side of Cleveland where dining is a cultural experience inspired by one of the oldest civilizations on earth, where patrons are encouraged to break bread together in a communal setting - eating from a common plate using their hands. The place is The Empress Taytu Ethiopian Restaurant.
The eight-year renovation of the Cleveland Museum of Art is finally done. Turns out, it was one of the largest museum expansions in the recent history of the U.S., increasing the size of the museum by 51%. And, according to the Plain Dealer, the project came in on time, and $30 million under budget. On this episode of Applause, a conversation with the Museum’s Interim Director, Fred Bidwell.
And, with Valentine’s Day fast approaching some may be thinking about flowers, while others - like Josh and Amanda Montague - have something a bit sassier and sexier in mind… chocolate! The duo are husband and wife, and the owners of Lilly Handmade Chocolates in Tremont, which specializes in designer chocolate confections.
