Inbox: What are you learning that would make you a great astronaut?

Last week, we learned that NASA is accepting applications to be an astronaut. We asked, what are you learning in school that would make you a great astronaut? Here are some of your responses!

Jordyn, Columbus Gifted Academy in Columbus: I am learning about the different planets and their atmospheres/temperatures and about spaceships and how they work! I think using those two things while going into space would really help you know about what you're going to be experiencing.

Yara, Springdale Elementary School in Springdale: I am learning about weathering and erosion and that might help me in space to see if there is any cracks in one of the planets. I have also went on a field trip to ISpace and it’s a space place and you learn a lot, you also do experiments and learn what the astronauts do in space and what they wear.

Victoria, Berea-Midpark Middle School in Middleburgh Heights: I learned about planets when I went to the to the planetarium. I learned about astronauts on the computer at home and how they live. I learned about Neil Armstrong and what he does. I Iearned about rocket ships on Brianpop. That what is I learned at school.

Colton, McCormick Middle School in Wellington: Some things I am learning that would help me as an astronaut would math science because you need to know the trajectory and that would be the math part and you need to known some reading like you need to be able to read the fuel guage and the science part would be knowing the gravitational pull and gravity.

Scout, Ft. Meigs Elementary School in Perrysburg: I think I would be a good astronaut because we learn about angles in math class and if we try to go to the moon we will need to know which way would be the dominant side of the earth and we would go to the wrong planet we also learned about rocks and minerals in science class that is why I think I would be a great astronaut.
