SO, THIS IS THE PART OF THE SHOW, WHEN, TYPICALLY, I’D WRAP THINGS UP! BUT WE WANT TO GIVE YOU A FEW THINGS TO KEEP AN EYE ON OVER SUMMER BREAK. WE CALLED THE FIRST HALF OF THE SHOW A RETROSPECTIVE BECAUSE WE WERE LOOKING BACK OVER THE SEASON – BUT NOW WE’RE TALKING ABOUT THE PROSPECTIVE – THAT’S LOOKING AHEAD AT EXPECTED EVENTS.
FIRST UP: OUR BELOVED CAVALIERS ARE CURRENTLY BATTLING IT OUT IN THE NBA EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS – WE’RE HOPING – FINGERS CROSSED – THEY BRING ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY HOME TO THE FOREST CITY!
BUT LEBRON ISN’T THE ONLY STAR IN OUR STATE! AS WE TOLD YOU THIS SEASON, FIONA, THE CINCINNATI ZOO’S NEW BABY HIPPO, HAS GROWN STRONGER AND HEALTHIER BEHIND THE SCENES – AND, SOON, SHE’LL BE MAKING A PUBLIC DEBUT. THE ZOO HASN’T YET ANNOUNCED WHEN WE CAN PAY HER A VISIT, BUT WE’LL LIKELY BE ABLE TO MEET HER BEFORE THE END OF THE SUMMER!
AND, FINALLY, WHILE WE FEEL HONORED EVERY WEEK TO MAKE THIS SHOW FOR YOU – WE’RE PROUD TO SAY WE’VE ALSO BEEN OFFICIALLY HONORED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES WITH THREE REGIONAL NOMINATIONS FOR OUR WORK THIS SEASON – INCLUDING ONE FOR ME AS HOST! YOU MIGHT HAVE HEARD ABOUT THE EMMYS -- THEY RECOGNIZE EXCELLENCE IN THE TELEVISION INDUSTRY, BUT YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW THAT EMMYS ARE ALSO AWARDED REGIONALLY. WE WON’T KNOW IF WE GET TO TAKE HOME A REGIONAL EMMY – OR THREE – UNTIL THE CEREMONY IN LATE JUNE, SO THAT’S SOMETHING WE’LL CERTAINLY BE WATCHING FOR!
