Ideas Sunday - Euclid Beach Park; School Turnarounds; Preserving 300-Year-Old Tree

For three quarters of a century, in the far northeast corner of Cleveland, a beloved amusement park brought joy to generations of Ohioans. It's been fifty years since Euclid Beach Park closed for good, but the memories live on.

The Warrensville Heights School District improved its grade on this year's state report card, climbing from a "D" to a "C.” It received an "F" two years ago. That kind of success, that quickly, is highly unusual. The folks who did the hard work say lifting a failing school district requires a community-wide effort.

Plus, new life for a 300-year-old white oak tree that didn't survive a powerful, September storm that ripped through Cleveland's east side neighborhoods.
