Ohio ranks as the 7th largest exporter of beer in the Country. On this episode of Applause, we welcome a new establishment to Playhouse Square that’s adding to our national ranking, The Hofbrauhaus.
The Hofbrauhaus wraps around a century old Tudor Mansion which serves as the home of the Hermit Club. The members agreed to their clubhouse incorporated into the Hofbrauhaus design in exchange for having the Hermit headquarters renovated. So who are these crafty Hermits? Some secret society? Not quite...
The addition of the Hofbrauhaus to Cleveland adds to Ohio’s ranking as one of the top producers of beer in the country. According to the Beer Institute that represents the beer industry the state ranks 7th in beer exports, employs some 44,000 people and has an economic impact of about $3.9 billion. Within our broadcast area there are dozens of craft brew manufacturers who are part of northeast Ohio's long history of making beer.
Artist Barbara Page, goes to great heights for motivation - 10,000 feet. Page was once a pilot, and in our ongoing series Applause America she tells us how her love of maps turned into a passion for painting, and how her mixed media art spans millions of years.
