December 11th, 8 p.m. Rumpke Mountain Boys and Jones for Revival at the Kent Stage!
The Rumpke Mountain Boys combine signature vocals, a unique command of string instruments and dynamic special effects into a singular musical experience. An emotion filled musical stream of consciousness with no set list, minimal structure, and intuitive improvisational flow. In this way, they summon the energy of the crowd as their guide in linking just the right music to precise moments in time.
December 11th, 6:30 p.m. The Hillbilly Gypsies at GAR Hall!
The band is best known for their high-energy live performances and have become a crowd favorite at major festivals, fairs and concert venues all across the mid-Atlantic region and abroad. They perform in the old fashioned style, playing around a single vintage ribbon microphone. This "Old Timey" approach adds an authentic high-energy barn party atmosphere to their show.

December 12th, 8 p.m. Hey Mavis at The Music Box Supper Club!
Americana-folk band “Hey Mavis” was born in 2009 as part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park artist-in-residence program. Over the past five years, Hey Mavis has methodically ramped-up touring efforts, moving from humble porch concerts in the Cuyahoga Valley to successes that include a recent appearance on NPR’s Mountain Stage, two overflow shows at the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival, and seven consecutive sell-out concerts in their hometown of Akron Ohio.

Over the Rhine is an American, Ohio-based folk music band, the core of which is the husband-and-wife team of pianist/guitarist/bassist LinfordDetweiler and vocalist/guitarist Karin Bergquist.
December 16th, 8 p.m. An Acoustic Evening with Marc Roberge if O.A.R. at the Music Box Supper Club!
Marc Roberge is a songwriter/producer and lead vocalist for the American rock band O.A.R. What began as a group of childhood friends making songs in the drummer’s basement after school, O.A.R. became widely accepted as one of the most successful independent bands of all time.
With 13 albums, a string of Madison Square Garden sellouts, USO trips to Iraq and Kuwait, millions of albums sold, shows around the world Roberge and O.A.R. continue to cover new ground creatively.

If you are into the Americana/roots music scene, you probably know David and Valerie Mayfield’s kids. The parents now perform as a duet, proudly billing themselves as “The Parents of David Ray Mayfield of The David Mayfield Parade & Jessica Lea Mayfield.” Those who like their kids’ music should be curious to hear their parents and see where all that talent came from.
December 18th, 9 p.m. Pitch the Peat at the Harp in Ohio City!
Pitch the Peat is a dynamic four piece Celtic ensemble with roots in County Clare, Ireland. Their musical talents span many genres and they delight in exploring the common threads in their vast repertoire from traditional Irish to contemporary for an entertaining evening of music.
December 20th, 4 p.m. The Kilroys at the Music Box Supper Club!
The Kilroys have been playing traditional Irish music in the city of Cleveland and throughout the Midwest for the past 25 years. The Kilroys are a group of 5 brothers and 2 sisters with ages ranging from 26-40. In the early years, their musical endeavors involved experimenting with drums and electric guitars incorporated into traditional Irish music.
December 21st, The Repository & Dusty Guitar Promotions Presents: Sara Evans At Christmas!
One of country music’s most successful female vocalists is coming to town for a Christmas concert. Sara Evans will perform at 7:30p.m. Dec. 21 at the Palace Theatre. The concert, presented by The Repository and Dusty Guitar Promotions, will feature Evans singing her many hits and several Christmas songs. “I Love singing and performing live so much that it’s hard not to get into the emotion of it, even if it’s a song I’ve sung 1,000 times,” Evans said in a recent interview for Ticket magazine. “I want to give the best performance I can every night, because it’s so many people’s first time tosee me in concert.” Evans’ radio hits include “A Real Fine Place to Start,” “Stronger,” “Suds in the Bucket,” “Born to Fly,” “No Place That Far” and “I Could Not Ask For More.

December 26th, Mo'Mojo at Jilly's Music Room in Akron!
Mo’ Mojo is a hard driving, high energy, Zydeco-based “Party-Gras” Band. The female fronted group features three-part harmonies, accordion, fiddle, guitar, rubboard, sax, trumpet, harp, bass, percussion, and drums.
December 30th, The Lighthouse and The Whaler perform at The Grog Shop 8:30 p.m.
The Lighthouse and the Whaler is a band from Cleveland, Ohio. Since its formation the band has moved from a folk trio to a rock quartet. The group's second album, This is an Adventure, was produced by Ryan Hadlock and independently released in 2012 and received critical praise for its genre-bending melodic folk.
December 30th, 9 p.m. Lonesome Stars take the stage at the Harp!
The Lonesome Stars actually keep fine company. Rosavelt bandleader Chris Allen sings and plays guitar in the down-home trio, heading up an all-star cast of Cleveland musicians gone cowboy, including bluesman Austin "Walkin' Cane" Charanghat and standup bassist Tom Prebish (Boys From County Hell). In backwoods ballads and bluegrass jams, the three pay homage to Billie Holiday, John Hardy, and the ghosts of lovers past.
New Years Eve the Portersharks take the stage at the Harp, 9 p.m.!
The Portersharks were formed in the late 1980's by Bill Chambers and Francis Quinn. Combining the best Irish traditional music with folk songs has always been the goal of the band. This is not your average run of the mill Irish band. Francis is a master on the fiddle when it comes to the pure tradition of Irish music.
