ELLIOT GOLDENTHAL: In the second of our series about Oscar-nominated film scores, Liane speaks with NPR's Andy Trudeau about Elliot Goldenthal, composer of the score for the film "Michael Collins." A classically-trained composer, Goldenthal's film work has a very thick texture. We hear excerpts from the "Michael Collins" score (Atlantic Classics 82960-2), and for comparison, one track from Jerry Goldsmith's "The Wind and the Lion" (Intrada MAF 70050).
