America SCORES is a unique after-school program that combines soccer, poetry and community service. In this segment, ideastream’s Rick Jackson interviews Executive Director of America SCORES Cleveland Debra Pence-Meyenberg and Tre’ Shaun Anderson, an alumnus of the program. We also hear from Johnny Owens, a young poet-athlete from the Slavic Village neighborhood of Cleveland.
