Through speeches and music, former president Bill Clinton and rocker Bruce Springsteen got the crowd fired up on the western campus of Cuyahoga Community College.
Parma is a reliably "blue" suburb of Cleveland, with a heavy manufacturing base. Residents largely supported Mr. Obama's first campaign in 2008.
Among those attending was Kayla Jennings, who grew up in the area. She says Clinton - not Springsteen - was the big draw for her.
"Well, he (Clinton) was the first president that I voted for," says Jennings. "And I think that his policies opened up a lot of money so I could go to college, I'm a big supporter."
Jennings says she applauds both Clinton's and Obama's stances on higher education, including backing community colleges, income-based repayment of student loans, and investing in schools as a way to battle unemployment. Jennings says that's why she'll vote to give the president four more years.
Meanwhile, the Romney-Ryan ticket scored a rockin' endorsement of their own, recently. Kid Rock endorsed them during a campaign event in Michigan last week.
