Michael Schwartz was brought in from Kent State in 2001 to fix a school that was in administrative disarray. Under his watch, Schwartz helped stabilize CSU's finances and mend some image problems. Now, he says, it's time for him to step back and make way for some new perspectives.
SCHWARTZ: I thought maybe I was getting a little too close to it. It's come such a long way; It's nothing like the university that was here when I came seven years ago. The time comes when you don't see things as clearly as you should and you have to recognize that and know that it's time for somebody else
Schwartz says he will return to teaching courses in educational administration. The University plans to conduct a nationwide search for his successor.
