Since the Covid-19 pandemic prevented audience-attended concerts from happening, the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music has gone completely virtual, live streaming concerts from the many fine concert halls on the Oberlin Campus, including Finney Chapel and Warner Concert Hall. Tonight, Oberlin returns with a bracing program of mostly new works, played by the Oberlin Orchestra, Oberlin Sinfonietta and Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble, with works by Viet Cuong, Paul Desenne, Liam Kaplan, Jessie Montgomery and Francis Poulenc.
It all takes place on Wednesday April 28 at 8 PM on WCLV 104/9 FM and online at www.wclv.org.
Program:
Paul Desenne: Sinfonia Bruocratica ed'Amazzonica (2004)
Liam Kaplan: Violin Concerto (2019-20) World premiere performance!
Jessie Montgomery: Banner (2014)
Viet Cuong: Electric Armoa (a most disagreeable noise) (2018)
Francis Poulenc: Sextet for Piano and Winsds (1932)
