State Lawmakers Agree On Budget Result, Not The Necessarily The Path

The budget includes increased taxes on oil and gas drilling, higher sales taxes on certain services, and more income tax cuts.

Speaker Cliff Rosenberger wouldn't spell out which plans the House would keep and which they would change. But he did say that the end result will include tax cuts.

"I think there'll be a tax cut. It's just what's our path and what does it look like. And which rabbit hole are we wanting to chase and how does it make the most sense," said Rosenberger.

Finance committee chair Ryan Smith, who joined Rosenberger is meeting with reporters, said he expects the House to pass its budget bill by mid-April.
