Local issues, especially electing a county executive and passing a levy for Tri-C, drove Cleveland voter Mike Carozzi.
"All of politics and all of life is local."
Or, at least that's where Carozzi thinks his vote can have the most influence. Local issues can provide visceral inspiration to vote. That seemed to be the case in one overwhelming defeat for city.
Voter One: Traffic cameras. "I don't like 'em."
Voter Two: "It was the traffic cameras. I don't think they're fair."
Man, could opponents tick off their reasons!
Voter One: "They create problems with traffic, cause (motorists) see that box there. 'Uh! Let me slow down' (bam)".
Voter Two: "There's a police officer who should be present at every scene. You just don't send anonymous tickets."
Voter Three: "The city's getting rich off of traffic tickets."
Clevelanders Mike Carozzi, Russell Holoway, Ed Hunka and Maragerta Dicks - passionate voters on an election day that left a lot of others cold.
