Cuyahoga County voters went to the polls yesterday to begin the process of electing a new government. Last November voters overwhelmingly chose to throw out the three commissioner system in favor of an executive and an 11 member council. Voters have narrowed down an unwieldy field of candidates from more than 80 to about two dozen when you count the council candidates. Lakewood Mayor Ed Fitzgerald won the Democratic primary for County Executive and attorney Matt Dolan won the Republican primary. ideastream®'s Eric Wellman spoke with associate editor Bill Rice and WKSU's Kevin Niedermier about the election.
