Winterfest is set for Saturday November 28, with the events at Public Square program kicking off at 3 p.m.
Local artists and bands will provide play holiday music and starting at 4 p.m., the holiday movie classic "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" will be played on the Public Square screens.
The main event runs from 6 p.m. to 7:10 p.m., with Santa Claus arriving and the lighting of more than 500,000 lights on Public Square and the city's Christmas tree.
The Singing Angels will perform afterward.
Josh Taylor with the Downtown Cleveland Alliance told ideastream's Eric Wellman that the big new offering this year -- free horse drawn carriage rides, available in front of Old Stone Church, on the north end of Public Square. Passengers will take a ride through the city in one of four different carriages, toruing the Warehouse District before returning to Public Square.
There will also be live music performances in various venues downtown, along with some unconventional events. The House of Blues will be hosting a Guitar Hero challenge and Cadillac Ranch will host an X-Box basketball event.
