Columbus city council member Kevin Boyce has been appointed to serve as the state's treasurer. He will fill out the unexpired term of Richard Cordray, who was elected to serve as Attorney General. Boyce says his experience as the chair of the council's finance committee was good preparation for his new position. Boyce will take over the treasurer's post on January sixth. He'll be up for election in two thousand ten.
