John McCain is telling the NAACP he will expand education opportunities for children in failing schools, including vouchers for children to attend private school. The likely Republican presidential nominee spoke today at the annual convention of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People meeting in Cincinnati. McCain also said no bureaucracy or union should be in a position deny parents the choice of which school to send their children to. McCain's speech drew polite applause from the audience. But some of the loudest cheers came when he praised likely opponent Senator Barack Obama. The Democrat addressed the convention Monday. We'll have analysis on both appearances Thursday during Morning Edition.
