He thinks the news media have helped paint a broad brush picture of all muslims as dangerous. And that was the thought behind yesterday's debut of the booklet called "American Muslims" which provides definitions, explanations and lists of common misconceptions about those who practice Islam.
Nader Mossttafa, of the local branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said the publication will be distributed to 40,000 U.S. journalists in an attempt to clear up some confusion that frustrates American Muslims.
Nader Mossttafa: We are citizens, we are concerned citizens about the safety of our homeland. My children do not know any other country but this as there homeland. The frustration will fade away when we are dealt with by the general public as equals.
Cleveland was one of seven U.S. cities chosen to roll out the "American Muslims" campaign, Tuesday.
