Stark Enterprises has bought a five story building on West 3rd Street and plans to move its company headquarters there, according to various media reports. Some are taking that as a signal that Bob Stark is getting ready to make good on a plan he put forward a year ago - to buy up what many consider unsightly surface parking lots between Cleveland's Public Square and Warehouse District, and put up buildings for commercial and residential use.
Stark Enterprises couldn't be reached for comment, but City Councilman Joe Cimperman, whose ward includes the downtown area, says he think this is Stark's way of saying - quote - I'm for real in terms of moving forward on the project.
The Plain Dealer quotes a Stark spokesman as saying the developer will make a major announcement to city leaders next week.
