The overwhelming winner in the Pet News voting was Buddy, the escaped pit bull-terrier mix that got stuck when he put his head through a hole in a cinder block wall in Phoenix, Ariz. Rescuers chiseled away at the blocks for 20 min. to free Buddy, who while stuck, was subjected to the indignity of being bitten on the head several times by a dog roaming near the cement wall. A chastened Buddy was reunited with his grateful owner.
