Essential Classics

Monday through Friday at 8:00 PM, we air at least one of WCLV's 104 Essential Classics - works that every classical music listener should know. If it's your first exposure to these works, welcome aboard! If you have heard the piece before, Essential Classics is a chance to reacquaint yourself with some of the established masterpieces of classical music.

You might want to take a look at what we think are 104 Essential Classics, pieces of music that are integral to what we refer to as “classical” music. Even if you’re new to classical music, we’re sure you’ll recognize some of the pieces on the list, and we’re doubly sure that you’d like a lot of the other pieces, as well. You can hear these and other essential classics weeknights at 8:00 PM on WCLV.
