A few dozen community members protested at the first Akron City Council meeting since a grand jury declined to indict the police officer who fatally shot 15-year-old Jazmir Tucker.

The Greater Akron Fellowship of Clergy has issued a list of policy demands following a grand jury's decision not to indict the Akron police officer that fatally shot 15-year-old Jazmir Tucker last year.

Fifteen-year-old Jazmir Tucker was fatally shot by an Akron police officer Nov. 28, 2024. Police found a hand gun in Tucker's zipped coat pocket after he was shot, body cam footage shows.

Ohio lawmakers passed House Bill 315 during its 2024 Lame Duck session. The bill includes a provision that allows law enforcement agencies to charge the public $75 an hour, up to $750, for body cam footage.
