The teachers strike in Westlake will likely end before the new school year begins. The school board and the union came to a tentative agreement Thursday.

The Westlake Schools Board of Education and the Westlake Teachers Association have reached a compromise on a 3-year contract.

Last month, negotiations broke down and culminated in a teachers’ strike vote.

Now Westlake teachers will vote again on whether to accept the contract and end the strike before the new school year begins.

Leaders from both sides said they’re collaborating for the benefit of their students’ education.

Details of the contract will be available after the vote.
