Ohio Prepares For Executions To Resume; CASA Program

The State of Ohio is preparing to put an inmate to death in what would be the state's first execution since 2014.  Ronald Phillips has been sentenced to die for the 1993 rape and murder of his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter.  The case is drawing national attention to Ohio.

Then, when a child is at risk of neglect or abuse within their home, or their parents simply aren't capable of providing for their needs the courts can order protective supervision. The only problem here is that recognizing a need for supervision doesn't always equate to a solution, especially in the flooded fostercare system. That's where Court Appointed Special Advocates step in to help. These volunteers meet once or twice a month with the child and their family to help them decide what is best for the child.
