Lake Erie is the shallowest of the Great Lakes and faces a number of challenges to its well being going forward. But what if you could help prevent a toxic algae bloom with just a smartphone app? Or clean up pollution with a robot? Those are some of the ideas that teams are working on as part of the first ever Erie Hack competition. The event seeks to find technology-based solutions to water-related problems. Building off AquaHacking events held in Canada and Europe, the concept is now being used here and focused first on Lake Erie.
