Wednesday brought the 500th rape indictment in Cuyahoga County since authorities began five years ago to test thousands of evidence kits that had languished for years as cases went cold. The evidence not only is bringing rapists to justice, officials say, it's generating data researchers are using to catch rapists and even prevent rape.
