Colon cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death in men and women combined in the United States. Doctors say people should have regular colonoscopies to screen for colon cancer beginning at age 50, unless there is a family history. But what about those who don't have a family history? And why, as colon cancer rates are declining and doctors are finding great success fighting it, have the number of cases among young people increased significantly?
