Your Answers: Why is it important to have multiple ways to vote?

In this last week's episode, we learned about several different ways to cast a ballot. We want to know: why is it important to have multiple ways to vote?

“It is important to have multiple ways to vote so that different people can be comfortable with how they vote. For example, Some people might not want to go out in public to vote because of COVID-19, while another person might want to be there in the action. That is why I think it is important for multiple voting methods.”
-Owen from Geneva Middle School in Geneva

“It is important to have multiple ways to vote because if you can't go vote, you can vote at home with the absentee ballot. Also, if you want to go early before a big crowd gets there, it is safer. Lastly, you can go vote with everyone else. It is good to get out and about sometimes!”
-Nikki from Greentown Intermediate in Greentown

“I think it is important to have multiple ways to vote because if you get scared of people, like me, you can just do it by mail. If you want to vote in person on the day of the election, then you can just go and vote on Election Day. If you can't go and vote because you have plans, you can just do the early vote.”
-Jakob from Minister Local Schools in Minister

“It is important to have multiple ways to vote because the people are not gathering to vote. We do not want people gathering because they could get COVID-19 while they are voting. My parents are voting early in person. I hope you stay safe!”
-Adelaide from Hopkins Elementary School in Mentor

“It is important to have multiple ways to vote because the situations of people are not all the same. Some people don't like to leave their home because of COVID-19. A person in a wheelchair may prefer to mail in their vote. People who are sick, people who are older, people who work long hours and people in other different situations need a choice.”
-Zaiden from Berea Midpark Middle School in Middleburg
