We asked if you think people should have to work on holidays.
Ryan, Lee Eaton Elementary: I think that people should have to work on holidays. I know it’s bad but still they might need the money. I also think that they should get longer break periods. Can’t wait for x-mass!!
Rayne, Chardon Hills: Yes and No: Yes because the people who are going holiday shopping need people to check them out so they can get the things they need, and so when they are done shopping the people who checked them out they can go holiday shopping. No because the people who are at work can't go holiday shopping for the people who are special to them, maybe or maybe not going to get the gift they were going to give them and because they want to spend time with their family.
Jaidyn, E.G. Shaw Elementary School: I think some people should work on Holidays because some people that are in hospitals could be seriously injured or need to have surgery immediately or they could die. Some people that don't have jobs where they have to get someone to the E.R., catch a runaway thief or wash down a huge burning building could probably be able to go be with family on holidays, otherwise I'm sorry if you are not able to be with your family.
Kaci, Madison Ave. Elementary: I think that you should have a choice if you want to work on holidays because some people love their job but other people want to be with their families on holidays. So that is why I think that you should have a choice if you want to work on the holidays.
Ella, Dodge Intermediate: I think people should not work on holidays. I think some should because doctors, firefighters and police officers should work because they have to keep people safe and I think helping people is very important. I think others should not work because holidays are really fun and if you have a job as a teacher, store owner, and many more jobs then you should not have to go to work. A teacher’s kids have winter break so I think teachers should have a break too. That is why I think people should and should not work on holidays.
