We’re lucky to have so many great parks to visit where you can see animals in their natural environment. This week we’re giving an A plus to the Cleveland Metroparks - which won the 2016 National Gold Medal Award for excellence in park and recreation management, from the National Recreation and Park Association.
The Metroparks manages 18 parks totaling more than 23,000 acres. Last year more than 45 million people visited the parks.
We want to give a shout out to the Columbus and Franklin County Metroparks too. Their Rocky Fork park, which guards five miles of streams and forty acres of wetlands, was given the Governor’s Award for Parks and Recreation by the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association. Bravo to all of you!
