Cruz, Kasich Team Up

As President Obama prepares to move out of the White House, the fight between those hoping to move in continues. And you would think that as primary season enters the home stretch, no serious candidate would effectively agree to lose in any state.

But that is basically what Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Ohio Governor John Kasich said they would do in three contests scheduled for May and June... joining forces against party frontrunner, Donald Trump.

In a pair of issued statements Sunday, the candidates announced a deal to divide their efforts in upcoming primary contests. Their goal is to prevent Trump from reaching the 1,237 delegates he needs to win the Republican nomination on the first ballot when the convention opens in Cleveland.

Cruz will focus on Indiana, while Kasich will devote his efforts to Oregon and New Mexico. Trump laughed off the strategy, calling it "desperation".
