New York has given a special honor to a former firefighter who fought for healthcare for 9/11 first responders.
Ray Pfeifer received a key to the city from Mayor Bill de Blasio. Pfeifer developed a stage-four cancer after working long shifts at ground zero, following the September 11th terror attack in New York City in 2001.
He fought for the Zadroga Act, that helped about 33,000 other first responders who also became sick.Pfeifer said it was not an easy fight. He says he'll donate the key to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. By the way, James Zadroga was a New York City police officer who died of a respiratory disease.
