Britain has a new princess! A new royal baby was born on Saturday, and this time, it's a girl! She's the second child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, also known as Prince William and Kate Middleton. The title duke comes from the Latin word lux, meaning leader and it's the highest hereditary title. Royal dukes, like Prince William, are members of the British royal family.
The newest royal is fourth in line to the throne, behind her grandfather - Prince Charles, her dad - Prince William, and her big brother - Prince George.
As Andy Rose reports, the announcement was greeted with much celebration.

The new princess will remain fourth in line to the throne regardless of whether her parents have another son. Before the law changed in 2013, male heirs took precedence over their sisters.
But we should give you an update on the princess's name. Her full name is Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge... and it has some special meaning. Her parents chose their daughter's names after family. The middle name of Diana is in honor of William's late mother, Princess Diana, who died in 1997. The middle name of Elizabeth is a nod to William's grandmother, the current queen. Charlotte is the feminine form of Charles and is likely a nod to her grandfather, Prince Charles.
