World's Largest Container Ship

Imagine a ship with a deck that extends nearly four football fields... that's pretty big right?

The world's largest container ship recently completed it's maiden voyage, or it's first journey, docking in the United Kingdom. A container ship is a cargo ship designed to hold large, metal boxes containing goods. Many of the goods we use here in the U.S., like clothes, shoes and even flat screen TVs, are transported overseas aboard a container ship.

The MSC Oscar, now labeled as the world's largest container ship journeyed from South Korea, to a shipping port in the UK. To understand it's size, this ship could hold 39,000 cars... and if it were placed in Times Square New York, the ship would tower over billboards and some buildings.

But we won't be seeing this particular ship dock in any of the U.S. ports just yet... it's too big! it will be put to use in trade routes between Asia and Europe... for now at least.
