Governor Kasich delivered his fifth State of the State address on Tuesday, and for the fourth time he traveled to a different area outside Columbus.
The governor emphasized tax cuts and educational formulas. Specifically, he addressed working to lower tuition costs at Ohio colleges and put more dollars and resources into schools. Governor Kasich also recognized a few select Ohioans for their courage and perseverance.
One of the governor's three Courage Awards went to 19-year-old Lauren Hill, the inspirational basketball player who was diagnosed with an inoperable form of brain cancer. The award was established in 2012, to inspire others to overcome challenges.
