Seismologists Say Two-Mile Fault to Blame for Earthquakes in Texas

Parts of Texas have been dealing with an out of the ordinary problem... small earthquakes that sometimes happen multiple times a day!

And now we`re getting closer to finding out why there`s been so much shakin' going on in north Texas lately.

Scientists who study the earth, also known as seismologists, have finally located the stretch of land known as the fault line, or where the earthquakes occur. A fault is a thin zone of crushed rock separating blocks of the earth's crust.

Scientists say now that they know the fault's location and depth, they can begin studying how the fault moves and what may have triggered it.
