It's been a few years since we introduced the story of the Little Free Library, which has spread across the country to towns and neighborhoods that didn't have full sized libraries of their own. Dozens of places in Ohio have joined in - from here in Cleveland to Toledo, Wooster and Marne! Now a man in South Dakota is sharing his love of books with his community.
Lavern Bills read about the Little Free Library project, and wanted to be a part of it. So he created this tiny lending library but made it out of a doghouse. The library's motto is "take a book, leave a book," and the operators hope to install book collections in all sorts of public spaces.
Bills says that his project has inspired his friends, and they're talking about adding another library, maybe one just for children.
