After two previous tries, representatives of Hong Kong's government are set to finally meet with pro-democracy student leaders.
The students want the public to have direct input on which candidates run for office in 2017, while the chief executive, who answers to officials on mainland china, says that is not possible.
The leader said that if the city's poor and working class residents are allowed to win this battle, they would have a political voice, which Beijing, the Chinese capital, does not want to happen.
