Marine Biologists Capture Video of Rare Deep-Sea Creature

We told you about an ocean "farmer" earlier in the show, but do you ever think about the creatures who live in the ocean? Well, we bet you've never seen anything like this. Take a look at this video of a rare deep-sea creature known as a siphonophore {sy-fawn-oh-fore}.

They're part of the class of animals that include jellyfish, but the siphonophore is not just one animal- it's a living colony made up of many individual organisms working together to eat, move and breathe. Marine biologists came across this unexpected surprise while studying the ocean bed in the Gulf of Mexico. Each organism, or zooid, has a special job to do and survive by forming together with other zooids into one larger organism.

Now that is teamwork!
