Antarctica is now the best-mapped continent on the planet thanks to a new map developed by scientists at The Ohio State University's Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center. The Reference Elevation Model of Antarctica (REMA)features four-dimensional mapping and allows for high-resolution photos that show how the terrain is changing. To learn more about REMA and how it will benefit researchers, ideastream's Rick Jackson spoke with Ian Howat, Ph.D. Howat directs the Byrd Center and is also an earth sciences professor at OSU.
