This summer, a group of Cleveland teenagers is getting a chance to make some money, learn construction skills and help lift up an inner-city neighborhood.
The "Building Great Futures" initiative started work today, rehabbing two houses in the Mt. Pleasant community.
The work crew consists of 16 students from Cleveland high schools who have been learning construction skills since April under the guidance of building trades professionals.
Over the next 10 weeks, the students will work with Habitat for Humanity to renovate the two homes using materials donated by an anonymous donor.
Besides Habitat, partners in the project include the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland, Youth Opportunities Unlimited and Cuyahoga County.
