Following up on an idea floated by County Executive Armond Budish during this spring's state of the county speech -- the 55 branches in the Cleveland and Cuyahoga County Public Library systems will soon be places where residents can apply for benefits such as food stamps and medicaid or take classes that will lead to a high school equivalency diploma, or other job readiness skills.
Just before they officially announced the new partnership today, County Executive Budish, Cuyahoga County Public Library Director Sari Feldman, and Cleveland Public Library Director Felton Thomas stopped by the idea center to talk about how it will work and the impact they hope this will have on the region's economy.
