The redrawing of Ohio's Congressional Districts happens every 10 years, with the next round set after the 2010 census. But lawmakers are hoping to get a jump on the process. Enter Hudson republican and State Senator Frank LaRose who says his plan would improve how the state draws congressional districts and make the process more fair.
Since the current district maps were put into place in 2012, no seat has changed party hands and 2016's closest race was decided by more than 18 points. Some blame gerrymandering -- the act of filling a district with so many members of one party or the other.
