Referred to as 'ground zero', the epidemic hits particularly hard across our state, and here in Northeast Ohio.
Just this morning, the Lake County coroner reported opioid related deaths nearly tripled last year; many of those attributed to fentanyl.
As part of the effort to curb the growing epidemic, the Metrohealth system will open an opioid safety office later this year calling the office the 'first of its kind' in Northeast Ohio.
The office of opioid safety will focus on improved treatment, education and advocacy.
