John Kasich was elected the 69th Governor of Ohio in 2010. He helped turn an $8 billion shortfall into a $2 billion surplus, cut taxes by $5 billion, and has created more than 460,000 new jobs.
He also broke from his party, supporting Medicaid expansion, refusing to support Republican efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, and declining to endorse Republican nominee Donald Trump after his own unsuccessful bid for President.
