On any given night, the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans estimates that nearly 48, 000 veterans are homeless.  Roughly  9% the homeless vets are women.  Service organzations say women veterans are more likely than their male counterparts to be single parents. Women vets are 'four' times more likely than their male counterparts to end up on the streets.  Later this year, a local organization, Women of Hope, will open a new facility to help some of these women vets.
