A Cleveland police officer died after a hit-and-run driver struck him as he set flares to divert traffic from another crash in which a fire truck was struck. Investigators say the driver was speeding and driving recklessly. Four months earlier, a state trooper was struck and killed on the same stretch of I-90. Police work, even seemingly mundane tasks like traffic control, is dangerous work.  We discuss the perils that first responders and traffic control officers face on the roads, and the responsibility drivers have to keep them safe.
