Day Before Election State Of The Race

Election Day is just 24 hours away. We check in on the state of the race. [Prostock-studio]
Election Day is just 24 hours away. We check in on the state of the race. [Prostock-studio]

There's less than 24 hours until election day. According to many political analysts, Democratic candidate Joe Biden is favored to win the presidency.
But remember this day 4 years ago? The polls also showed Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton trouncing Donald Trump on election night. And as we all know now -- it went the other way.

So why should voters trust the polls this time? And how is the state of the race today different than it was -  four years ago? What lessons have pollsters and analysts learned about our country's political makeup? And is there a chance for another repeat of 2016?

Joining us on The Sound of Ideas to answer those and all 'your' final questions about the polls before Election Day is Kyle Kondik.
Not only does he know Ohio in and out, having written the book on Ohio's presidential voting history -- The Bellwether -- but he is the managing editor of Sabato's Crystal Ball, with the University of Virginia Center for Politics.

Then, we'll hear from ideastream Reporter Matt Richmond on how news networks make their calls on Election Night.

And, a conversation with hospice doctor Dr. Jeff Spiess on his new book, "Dying with Ease."
