Featured Audio

On this week's Roundtable, we discuss the first presidential debate of the 2020 election season as it will come to Cleveland on Tuesday night.  And beyond the candidates: Republican President Trump and Democrat Joe Biden, the former vice president, 300 National Guard members will be dispatched to help support Cleveland Police, who are at the ready for possible protests.  We'll discuss the lead-up to the debate and why some city leaders aren't happy to play host.

We'll also discuss the vacancy on the Supreme Court and how that will be an issue in this debate and this election. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died last Friday. She lies in state in Statuary Hall at the U.S. Capitol this morning. The two Senators from Ohio, Rob Portman and Sherrod Brown have firm opinions on nominating a new justice, we'll dig into their stances.

In other news this week, Ohio lawmakers figure out what to do with a nuclear bailout bill at the center of a federal bribery investigation, we are learning more about how the FBI built its case.  According to investigatvie documents, a local state representative gave investigators an up close look at the pressure House Speaker Larry Householder applied to get House Bill 6 passed.

And it's less than six weeks before election day and early voting is set to begin in Ohio in less than two weeks. We'll be joined later in the show by Lauren Copeland, Associate Director of the Community Research Institute at Baldwin Wallace University. It's new poll shows Biden and Trump neck and neck in Ohio. The survey also digs into what people think about the Black Lives Matter movement, political decency, as well as the job Governor Mike DeWine is doing.
